What Louise's clients say...

“Louise has provided one to one puppy training for our west highland terrier Nelson over the course of the last month.

Her patient and calm approach has been hugely helpful in guiding us through the key behavioural basics of having a puppy, which we were quite anxious about as we have not owned a puppy in London before.

From the basics of sitting, lying down, recall training and playing with other puppies, Louise’s advice has been invaluable from start to finish, and everyone who meets Nelson comments on how well trained he is for his age.  It also proved to be a great support in having queries answered along the way between our sessions - such as on how to control Nelson’s love of digging, and controlling his level of play fighting with my business partner’s dog.

We cannot recommend Louise enough and would advise anyone in need of some dog training to swiftly get in touch with her!”

“My foster dog, Aspen, arrived from Romania a bundle of nerves with serious trust issues and a tendency to lash out if feeling really threatened. For months she wouldn't let a single other person touch her which left me feeling overwhelmed and struggling to cope. Louise agreed to work with her in the hopes that she could bond with Aspen and gradually teach her to associate other people/physical contact with something positive as opposed to the abuse she was used to as a stray. The change in Aspen after a few weeks was truly amazing. She started to voluntarily seek attention from Louise, thus allowing another person to touch her for the first time since being with me. This break-through continued to have  a really positive knock-on effect regarding Aspen's general trust of other humans. She can now tolerate most people touching her and has actually bonded with a few people now which I previously thought would never be possible!

I'm very grateful to Louise for her hard work and patience (Aspen is like a new dog!) and I would wholeheartedly recommend her to anyone looking for a professional, reliable, insightful and, most importantly, compassionate trainer.”

“We recently got a new labrador puppy and have had Louise help us to understand how best to train him. Her methods are modern and humane - positively reinforcing good behaviour in the dog and not relying on outdated concepts of punishment or dominance. Much of her work also focuses on the person, she trained US in the proper behaviours WE needed to adopt to train the puppy. She is also a general font of knowledge and good practice for all canine queries. I would be very happy to recommend her to any dog owner.

As a result of working with Louise, our puppy is far ahead of what would be expected for his age in terms of behaviour. Whilst still only 4 months old, he is almost completely toilet trained. He is a very confident dog due to the advice Louise provided around exposure to new experiences at critical points in his development. His behaviour is also excellent and he is making quick progress in areas such as recall.”

"We enlisted Louise's help when we got our cocker spaniel Willow. Louise came to the house before Willow's arrival for a pre puppy session. She gave us so much valuable information which meant the car journey to bring her home was relaxed and settling her at night was easy.

She made sure we knew the importance of exposing Willow to the outside world at an early age. The next few sessions covered toilet training, bite inhibition, sit, wait, heel, settling in her crate and much more using the clicker method and positive reinforcement. This was all new to us as we've never had a dog before but Louise made it so easy and simple for us to follow. With Louise's help Willow was trained to sit at 8 and a half weeks old and toilet trained by 15 weeks. Louise was always happy to answer the phone or email if we had any questions between sessions which was extremely reassuring.

Overall a fantastic experience, we now have a beautifully behaved, happy dog and we couldn't have done it without her!"

"Louise has been so helpful teaching me and my little Jack-Chi how to socialise better with other dogs. She's taught her how to use the clicker and reward system and has changed our experience when we go on walks. Stella is a much happier and calmer dog now thanks to her and I feel more confident introducing her to new dog friends in the park."

"We contacted Louise after our Romanian rescue Rula started to show signs of frustration with us and begun acting like a slightly rebellious teenager.  In only two sessions, Louise was able to show us ways in which we could overcome this and build our relationship with Rula. Her methods are effective, gentle and easy for us to follow! Louise was patient with us, provided us with simple things to build into our usual routine, answered all of our questions thoroughly and followed up from our sessions with useful tips and tricks. Louise is clearly very passionate about what she does which shows in her work and the relationship she quickly builds with the dogs she works with. We would highly recommend Louise to anyone looking to help build their relationship with their dog and to tackle any behavioural difficulties."

"We got our Beagle puppy Harvey at 10 weeks and Louise came to us by recommendation when he was 12 weeks old. We are a first time dog owner family, hence the one on one dog training at our home. It could have not been more valuable to us.

Louise's calm, positive and very patient training approach has been immensely helpful to us. She uses the clicker and treats for positive reinforcement and our puppy took instantly to it and learnt all essential basic commands very quickly this way.

We learnt about recall, how to ignore jumping up and nipping, sit, heel, leave it and drop it. Our puppy got very anxious around the hoover and barked madly. Louise showed me how to use the clicker and treats around the hoover to desensitise him and as a result, the hoover is now Harvey's friend! No more barking at it. I valued that I could ask Louise questions by e-mail in between the next training session.

Louise also taught me to expose Harvey to as many new situations as possible including going on a bus and tube. Harvey is developing into a really confident, happy puppy and I am convinced that Louise's training has given him a strong base for life. I highly recommend her training to anyone."

"Otis my wonderful whippet puppy and I committed ourselves to a training programme with Louise. She uses clicker training which is a gentle and effective way of achieving good behavioural habits from your dog. She is very professional and absolutely adores dogs. Lots of patience, full of advice and follows up training sessions with additional tips and comments. Louise put a sensible programme together for Otis and  we achieved many tasks and  I gained so much confidence as a whippet owner. Otis and I very much enjoyed working with her and would very much recommend her."

“Louise came to help us with Cliff, a rescue from Greece. Because of his background, Cliff was extremely reactive to other dogs, cars, joggers and people he didn’t know.

Louise explained to us that Cliff was highly stressed and the first thing we needed to do was address this before training started. This involved a four week program designed to reduce the stress hormones in Cliff’s body and to start releasing calming hormones instead. This meant that we could start desensitising Cliff to his triggers.

Cliffy’s progress has been amazing! We’ve worked really hard to keep on top of the positive reinforcement and getting gradually closer to other dogs and this week he’s had loads of encounters where we felt he was so relaxed when we got close to them that we could let him play! I’ve nearly been in tears of joy each time! It’s a whole world away from where he was, he’s so much happier. It’s so nice to see him playing well again with others - I know I said it loads but THANK YOU SOOOO MUCH to Louise, I highly recommend her!"
